The charger is bottom-heavy with the battery inserted which can cause the plug to lose contact with the wall outlet. This model doesn't hold a charge long enough to finish most projects and takes up to 4 hours to recharge. Quality and design is far below what I expected from Dremel. On more than one occasion I thought it was charging only to find when I wanted to use it that it had come partially unplugged. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes out of it. The battery pack fits poorly to the unit and easily pops out.
It carries a charge and does not lose power for a long time. This rotary tool is great. It is quiet and powerful.
I only need to use the 'low' speed. I purchased this to trim my dogs nails as I don't like to use the cutters (too worried about nipping the quick). I would purchase this again. The charge lasts through two uses (at least 2-3 weeks in between). I read the reviews on this and the other 'trendy' dog groomers and decided to purchase the dremel over the so-called pet groomers. This tool works great and my dog doesn't mind having her nails trimmed with it.
I also ordered the extra battery but don't think I really need it because I can use my tool for 20 or 30 minutes at a time and the original battery has not gone dead yet. It is the perfect tool for the job and saves me tons of time and energy. I love the case also because I know where all the accessories are when ever I need them. I ordered the dremel tool to grind the edges of my concrete leaves that I sandcast. I love it.
I am very pleased I had followed the suggestion, because another less powerful would not have worked on him.I would definitely reccomend this for large dog owners who want to do the job quickly. Well, it really does the trick and quickly too. I certainly didn't have to struggle with him, which also made the job so much easier. I purchased this specifically for our Bassett Hound's nails, which are massive. I had read a review of it from another purchaser that suggested it for large dogs.
